GaDangme, Stockholm, celebrates Homowo Festival at Hallunda, September 30th, 2017

First Homowo celebration in Stockholm



It was the first of its kind - a very traditional Ga custom tied to Ga land, being held far away in Stockholm. It was organised by the Ga-Dangme Association in Greater Stockholm. There was a procession of a Ga Mantse and the Queen who sat in state and watched over the ceremony. And there was the typical Homowo food - kpokpoi with palm nut soup and lots of fish. There was other food too. And dancing - lots of kpalongo and othe traditional and modern Ga music. The children performed too.
