The Ghanaian community in Stockholm came together on Saturday, 4 July 2026, for the second edition of the annual Ghana Union Party in the Park, held this year under the banner Ghana Union Party in the Park 2026.
The event, organised by Ghana Union Stor-Stockholm in collaboration with its sister associations, took place at RĂĄgsved Park in Stockholm and brought together Ghanaians, friends of Ghana, families, community leaders and representatives of African community organisations for a vibrant celebration of Ghanaian culture, heritage and community spirit.
The colourful outdoor celebration was graced by Her Excellency Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdoms of Denmark and Sweden, together with members of her delegation.
Her presence added significance to the occasion and underscored the Embassy's continued commitment to engaging with Ghanaian communities and organisations across its countries of accreditation.
Celebrating Ghanaian Culture and Heritage
The event showcased the richness and diversity of Ghanaian culture through music, dance, food, fashion, games and family-friendly activities.
One of the highlights of the day was an impressive cultural performance by Sankofa Cultural Dance and Performing Arts Sweden, which captivated guests with traditional Ghanaian music and dance performances celebrating Ghana's rich cultural heritage.
Attendees also enjoyed a wide variety of authentic Ghanaian cuisine, refreshments and products provided by food and merchandise vendors, while DJs and entertainers kept the atmosphere lively throughout the day with a vibrant blend of Ghanaian and African music.
The event provided an opportunity for members of the Ghanaian community to reconnect with their cultural roots while introducing friends of Ghana and members of Stockholm's wider multicultural community to Ghanaian traditions and values.
Collaboration Across the Ghanaian Community
Ghana Union Party in the Park 2026 was organised by Ghana Union Stor-Stockholm in collaboration with its sister associations:

Representatives of other African community organisations, religious leaders, community leaders and friends of Ghana also participated in the celebration.
Strengthening Diaspora Engagement
In her address, Her Excellency Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere underscored the important role of the diaspora in entrepreneurship, investment and building the future of the African continent. She emphasised the value of diaspora engagement in strengthening economic ties, promoting innovation and contributing to sustainable development in Ghana and across Africa.
Speaking after the event, the President of Ghana Union Stor-Stockholm, Mr. Emmanuel Ima Gandah, described the event as an important platform for strengthening relationships within the Ghanaian community and promoting Ghanaian culture in Sweden.
"Ghana Union Party in the Park is more than a social event. It is a celebration of our identity, our heritage and our shared future as a community. It provides an opportunity for Ghanaians, our African brothers and sisters, and friends of Ghana to come together in unity and fellowship while showcasing the richness of our culture to the wider society."

The Union looks forward to working closely with the Embassy of Ghana, sister associations, businesses, artists, sponsors and community stakeholders to expand future editions of the event and create additional opportunities to promote Ghanaian culture, tourism, entrepreneurship and investment opportunities.
The successful celebration demonstrated the strength, visibility and growing contribution of the Ghanaian community in Stockholm and its important role in promoting intercultural dialogue and strengthening relations between Ghana and Sweden.
