The dLink remittance services get under way

The dLink internet remittance services got under way when members of Ghana Union met to sign up to the service on the internet. Members can now sit down in the comfort of their homes and send money to their loved ones in Ghana at very reduced rates. All that is needed is a Visa Account here and one for the receiver in Ghana who will have the money paid directly into the account. The service is open to all. Those who wish to take part should contact Micah Kissi (micah@ghanaunion.se) or Baba Ibrahim-Nabigah (bab.ibrahim@comhem.se) either of whom can make a one-time guarantee and verification of your registrations to enable you start your remittances.

At a meeting with members of the Ghana Union Prof. Bengt Henoch, CEO of DiasporaLink, said the pilot phase of the project was over and the system was now fully functional for potential senders to start using it. Senders will have to register themselves and details of recipients on the project’s website at www.diasporalink.eu where they can create their own logins and passwords. Once a receiver is registered, the details are retained making it easier to send money to the recipient several times. The fee for each remittance has been fixed at €2 + 1 percent of amount sent. A limit of 5000 SEK has been, so far, set for a one-time remittance with total remittances per month not exceeding 16000 kr. These amounts will be increased in the future.

Mr. Quang Vinh Evans Luong, Marketing and Market Analyst, and Kamal Mohammed, Marketing Coordinator were at hand to help union members register. Many of them took the opportunity to do so and promised to help others too.

The service will be officially launched in the fall.

Requirements for sending money:
