Ghana moves up the rankings: Ghana did not win the African Cup of Nations but her performace has moved her up the FIFA/Coca Cola rankings. In the latest rankings released by FIFA, Ghana has moved to an all time top ranking of 14 in the world which puts her in the top spot in
Africa. Cameroon also moved 8 places up to 17th and join Ghana as the only two African teams in the world's top 20. Egypt moves to 29th place and Cote d'Ivoire to the 24th which is 14 places up on their previous ranking. Nigeria's poor performance pushes her 23 places down to 45th in the world and only   Black Stars

the continent's sixth best. The world rankings are still topped by Argentina, Brazil and Italy which have a few points between them. Sweden occupies the 22nd position, several ranking points below Ghana. The FIFA rankings are based on a complicated weighting system that takes into account a country's performances in the last four years.
