Joe Frans makes a bid for a second term in parliament
Ghanaian born Joe Frans is yet again on the list of the ruling Social Democratic Party for a second term in the Riksdag, the Swedish Parliament. Joe Frans was born in 1963 in Ghana and came to Sweden as a young man. He has served in various capacities in the Social Democratic party and was elected to the national parliament in 2002. In his first term in parliament, he has concentrated on issues of safety and education as well as questions concerning the conflicts in Africa.
Joe Frans has strongly identified himself with the African cause in Sweden. He has been a most frequent visitor to Ghana Union's functions and has helped the union in many ways. He instituted the Yaa Asantewa Award which is to be given annually for any woman who has distinguished herself in the African community in Stockholm. Ghana union adminsters the Yaa Asantewa Award.
Joe Frans is number 9 on the Social Democrats' list for Stockholm kommun. He will still require your personal vote on September 17 to make it. All you have to do is to put your mark by his name.
