| The 12 winners will be joined by the best eight runners-up for the second stage which will be made up of five groups of four teams each. The winners of the second group stage will qualify for the World Cup and the first three finishers will join the host nation in the 2010 African Cup of Nations. South Africa, if it qualifies for the second group stage, will compete only for a place in the Cup of Nations. |
